Church links
We recognise the importance of partnership in order to realise our vision of all members of our community growing to fulfil their highest potential. We understand the importance of our strong relationship with our local Church in both strengthening our own Christian foundation and in our responsibility to giving back to the Church.
We regularly visit St Mary's Church to celebrate key Christian festivals and mark the liturgical calendar as a connected community of school and local Church.
We visit St Mary's over the course of the year to support our learning in RE lessons, including meeting with Reverend Frostick for him to share information relating to the Church as a place of worship.
Reverend Frostick joins us in school regularly to lead Collective Worship.
Reverend Frostick joins us in school regularly to take part in RE lessons, supporting our children to develop their understanding of Church and Christian traditions.
We have a strong partnership with our local Methodist Church, with Collective Worship led by members of the church in school and the school offering support to the church and their causes.
In June 2024, our Year 6 pupils took part in a Diocese wide Year 6 Leavers' Service at St Andrew's Church in Eastbourne. The children led a dramatic reading of Jesus' appearances to the Disciples and joined the children from other local Church of England schools in prayer, song and worship. |
St Mary's Church. Ninfield and St Oswald's, Hooe:
The Priest in Charge, Rev Paul Frostick, regularly leads school collective worship, festival celebrations as services in St Mary's Church, and supports The RE curriculum class work.
Messy Church:
We have a strong link with Ninfield Messy Church. They lead regular collective worship and promote their club for children: a way of being church for families involving fun. The club runs on the last Wednesday of every month during term time.
